A friend invited us to dinner and made us slushies for desert with this device, purchased from a local big box store (whose name rhymes with mal-wart). Anyway, the slushies were delicious, made with with Nescafe Ice Java ([...]).
A few days later, while at another big box store (whose name rhymes with gartet), I found one for the right price, and bought it and 3 more cups (we're a family of 4). At another store we found some Nescafe and a bag of ice. We've been making smoothies every day since. We've made them with the Nescafe, chocolate milk, malted milk powder, pina colada mix, and my current beverage, a concoction made with strawberry slushie powder, milk, and frozen srawberries and banana instead of the ice.
Protip: buy the 7-11 aluminum slurpee straws! Eco-friendly and they stay cold. Plus the larger bore eliminates the need for any spoon.

(More customer reviews)My son had to have this for this birthday. I was skeptical but it truely does work. It was smaller than I anticipated, but if you mix up 2 boxes of cake mix and add two-thirds of the mix it makes a big difference. This leaves you enough mix for 12 regular size cupcakes. I found I had to turn the oven down from 350 to 325 and baked for approximatly 45 to 50 minutes so it didn't brown too much. I have tried both Duncan Hines and Pillsbury mixes in it and Pillsbury works best. If you are planning on making these for bakes sales (which sell like hot cakes!) I would recommend buying 2 molds if you haved the chance. I made 4 in one night and it took me 5 hours in total between baking, cooling, and frosting. Best part about it is that it makes the best Mario Brothers Mushroom Cake around!

(More customer reviews)I bought this icy machine about three years ago, and I absolutely loved it. I liked the look, and it shaved ice very well. I paid around 50 to 60 for this product. After making approximately 50 snow cones in it though, it broke. The gears just kept grinding, but it would not shave ice anymore. I figured the blades had gotten dull. Therefore, I went out and bought a 30 dollar sharpening kit from a local hardware store. I sharpened the blades where they would cut the hair off of my arm like a razor. Still, it would not work. Therefore, I paid about a dollar per cup of shaved ice. I would have been better off buying my slushies at the local convenience store after I factored in the cost of ice and flavoring. It just is not worth the price for as little amount of time as it last.

(More customer reviews)This waffle iron does a great job with waffles. The problem is that it is very hard to clean. There are to many small clearances around the waffle iron for waffle mix to cake up if the waffle iron runs over. There isn't an adequate drip edge to catch the over flow.
I am going to try the Villaware with the removeable grids. I put whole blue berries into to my waffle batter, and this also requires additional clean up that would be easier if I can remove the grids and put them in a dish pan.

You can do almost everything you can do with an electric mixer. It is conveniently smaller and easier to clean.

(More customer reviews)Bought this as a Xmas present for my child and we used it a couple of times...loved the idea...cute concept, worked with just ice cubes...easy to use and loved the idea that it had the snow cone holder built right in....BUT...we kept getting little white shards of plastic in our snow cones...I cleaned the machine out twice, and tried again...still plastic shards...called the manufacturer...no response at all. I wanted to love this machine...it had all the makings of a success, and had the manufacturer responded, I might have even tried another to see if I had just gotten a lemon...but no response, thru email or phone. Now I am trying to find another one, by a different manufacturer, that won't leave me with a bad taste in my mouth...from poor customer service OR white shaved pieces of plastic.

Orka Ice Cube Tray, Orange Review

(More customer reviews)Over the years my wife and I accumulated a mismatched pile of ice cube trays. When we bought a "new" house with a late-model fridge, we ditched the trays in favor of the fridge's automatic ice maker. It turns out that the ice maker took up a third of the freezer and had other issues. The ice maker had to go. So we found ourselves back in the tray market. After some study on Amazon, we bought a pair of the Orka Ice Cube Trays. Our findings:
1. First and biggest finding: you will likely not be able to pop the cubes free using only the flexible silicone bottom membranes on the cube sections. You either must run the tray under warm water or simply do the old flex-the-tray routine you always did with plastic ice trays. The silicone push panels make it easier but they usually won't do the job on their own. I'm a 6 foot man with reasonable hand strength. My 5 foot wife doesn't even try. She hands the tray to me.
2. The top cover is a useful feature. It keeps you from popping the cubes and other bits of ice around the room when you're freeing the cubes from the tray. You loosen the cubes, flip the works over, and you get an open tray full of easily grabbed ice cubes.
3. The forms on the tray cover allow secure stacking of Orka trays. In our crowded freezer this is a good thing.
Conclusions: these are not bad ice trays and they have some nice features. We'll use them. Would we do it over again for $9.95 a copy? Probably not, but I don't yet know of any that are better.

This caused a problem with ice falling out at first, until I boosted the tray up with an object about 2 inches.

I investigated other inline filters, but most of them required a separate tap installed -- since we have a granite countertops, this seemed like an extreme fix. finally, here is a filter that simply sits in your cold water line -- giving you filtered water to your existing cold water tap. It works great -- the chlorine taste and smell is gone. It does slow down the cold water flow minimally. It is no big deal, and hardly noticeable. Installation was a snap. I would absolutely recommend it.

That one also did not freeze. It does not seem to get cold enough for ice cream. But instead you get to eat some ice cream soup. Personally I like ice cream soup at the end of my ice cream (reminds me of childhood sitting at the table with my brother and us stiring our ice cream till it was soup), but do not like to start with it. I would definitely not buy this product ever again. In fact we are planning on sending it back.

(More customer reviews)I have really enjoyed using this product. I need to have easy-to-eat foods, so I started using blenders and a food processor to puree meals. What a pain, and the clean-up!! Don't get me started. This Cuisinart has saved the day. I fill it with the food I want to puree, add the liquid (needs more than you think) and then pulse. First on low, then high. I may take it off an shake it, and then run a bit more, occasionally I will run without pulsing for 30 secs. or so. Its fast!! It makes a smooth puree, better than my blender, better than my food processor and much quicker. Then I put the black top on the cup and viola, ready to eat. No other dishes needed. The clean up is easy -- just rinse the blade and put the top and cup in the dishwasher. There are plenty of cups and tops, so if I want to make another flavor or a side, I use another cup. This has been indispensable for me to eat regular food--the same food I make for my family, pureed. When I want hot items, I can put the cup in the microwave before or after blending, which makes it so much easier than a blender. For my needs this is perfect. I haven't used the grinding blade yet.
I'm having fun making great puree recipes...so much so, I'm thinking I should publish a book on them, or at least share with friends who are recovering and need easy to digest foods, or easy to eat foods.
